O. Minooka; was born in Attandorff, Alisace, France (now Germany), Dec. 28, 1820. He married Miss Thresa DOOSZMANN Dec. 31, 1855; she was born in Morschwaeller, Alsace, France, Dec. 8, 1830; they had nine children, seven living - John, Joseph, Lena May, Louisa, Caroline, Thresa and Lawrence. He lived in France thirty-five years; was engaged in farm labor, and was seven years in the French army, serving in Africa; he then came to the United States and settled in Buffalo, where he lived about eighteen months; he then came to Joliet; this was in 1855, and, in 1864, he came to his present place, and has lived here since; he came here in poor circumstances; he now owns 140 acres in this township, which he has earned by his own labor.
