All rights reserved. ************************************************ File contributed for use by: Dori Leekly & Margie Glenn Author: History of Will County IL, 1878 Vincent BANYARD, staple and fancy groceries, wooden and willow ware, confectionery and bakery, Wilmington; born in County of Norfolk, England, Sept. 23, 1820; came to this country in 1850, locating in Erie CO., Penn., and, five years later, removed to Union Co., Iowa; came to Wilmington, his present home, in 1859, and engaged in his present line of business in the building formerly occupied by Mr. MITCHELL, and known as the Eagle Hotel; he built the store he now occupies in 1865; was a member of the City Council in 1865-66. Married in 1863 to Miss Mary A. DICKSON, who was born in Erie Co., Penn., Dec. 12, 1844; three children by this union - Bessie V., born Jan. 16, 1864; Mary J., Dec. 18, 1865, and Vincent W., Oct. 8, 1870. Mr. BANYARD is a member of the following Masonic bodies: Wilmington Lodge, No. 208, and Wilmington Chapter, No. 142.
