Mr. BRASE attended the schools of Germany, and received a high-school education; he taught school in Germany in the winters of 1849 and 1850, this being his first experience in the teaching of school. In 1851, he emigrated to America, and his first school was taught in Morgan Co., Mo; here he remained until 1865, then to La Fayette Co., Mo., engaged in teaching until 1873; he then came to Crete; here he has been engaged in teaching ever since; the Crete school is very popular and well patronized, and reflects great credit upon Mr. BRASE in his excellent manner of teaching.
