Mrs. Ann BROADIE, farmer, P. O. New Lenox; one of our earliest settlers; was born in 
Brown Co., Ohio, Feb. 28, 1832; came to this State with her father's family when she 
was 3 years old, and settled in New Lenox, Will Co., where she has since made her home. 
She was married May 11, 1854, to the late Robert J. BROADIE, deceased, who was born in 
Ohio Feb. 5, 1829, and who died Dec. 21, 1873; they have had five, children, three of 
whom are living - Esther Ann, John C. and Sarah A.; deceased - Lydia and Anna. The farm 
of Mrs. BROADIE consists of 735 acres, valued at $40,000.
