BROOKS, farmer, Sec. 11; P. O. Gooding's Grove; was born in Erie Co., N. Y., Oct. 12, 1833; he lived there until he was 4 years of age, and then came with his mother, in 1837, to this county, and after the death of his, mother in October of same year, he went to live with Holder SISSON until spring of 1838, when he lived with Wm. FRAZER up to August, from which time until he was 21 he remained with his father, Alonzo; in 1867, he moved to the farm upon which he now resides. In 1869, he went to Cass Co., Mo., remaining four years, and then returned to this township, and has lived since on his farm. Has been School Director. Married Eunice Z. COON, of Mokena, Will Co., Nov. 28, 1855; she was born Jan. 25, 1834; have three children - Louis D., born Oct. 5, 1856; William H., born Dec. 18, 1858, and Annis I., born Aug. 13, 1862.
