May 26. 1846, and is the son of the late Frederick CAPPEL, deceased, who was one of our first settlers and pioneers. Mr. J. CAPPEL was married to Miss Elizabeth WERNER, who was born in Illinois; they have had five children, all of whom are living, viz., Julia, Emma, John, Willie and George. Mr. C. has hold the office of Deputy Sheriff four years; Collector, one year, and Township Clerk six years; his property, which contains eight-five acres, is situated on Sec. 10, and is valued at $4,000.
