Channahon; the subject of this sketch was born in Orleans Co., N.Y. Jan. 27, 1834. He married Miss Ellen SPENCER Jan. 10, 1855. They had two children; both died. He lived in New York until 1853, when he came West and settled in Joliet, where he remained on year and then came to this township, and engaged in farming; remained three years; then he went to Troy Tp., and lived there two years. He then went to Minooka, Grundy Co., Ill., and engaged in the grain business; remained two years; then he engaged in same business at Minooka Landing; remainded three years; then in 1865 he came to his present place; in 1868, he became partner with Marshall TRUBY, in the grain business at Joliet and Bird's Bridge; they carried on the business seven years.
