D., physician, Elwood; the subject of this sketch was born in Bradford Co, Penn., April 27, 1843. He married Miss Catheron M. FERRYMAN Nov. 8, 1868; she was born in Guernsey Co, Ohio, Aug. 16, 1843; they have one child living, viz., Nellie G. He lived in Pennsylvania twenty-two years, when he came west to Illinois, and settled in Grundy Co, at Minooka, where he read medicine; in 1871, he graduated at the Hahnemann Medical College, of Chicago, then settled at Elwood, where he has followed his profession since. In 1862, he enlisted in 141st Penn. Vol. Inf., and was in the service about eighteen months; at the battle of Chancellorsville he received five separate wounds, which disabled him from further service.
