All rights reserved. ************************************************ File contributed for use by: Dori Leekly & Margie Glenn Author: History of Will County IL, 1878 Eugene DALY, undertaker and dealer in furniture, Joliet; is a native of the county of Longford, Ireland; he was born on the 13th of May, 1826; in 1844, he came to this country and spent three years in Sag Harbor, L. I., where he learned the trade of a cabinet-maker; coming to Chicago, he worked at his trade there until the fall of 1850, when he came to Joliet and started in business for himself; he is the oldest undertaker and furniture man in Joliet; he has held several public offices, among which may be mentioned those of Coroner of the county, Supervisor and member of the Board of Aldermen. He was married in 1852 to Miss Bridget THOMPSON, of Joliet; she is also a native of the county of Longford, Ireland; they have eight children living - Margaret, Mary A., John, Catherine, Joseph J., Ellen, Charlie and Willie.
