Monee; born May 20, 1816, in Yorkshire, Eng., where he lived until 1852, when he came to the United States, and, after living a short time in Kankakee Co., he settled in Cook Co., IL, where he lived until the spring of 1869, when he moved to his present home on his farm; he was engaged on the Illinois Central Railroad a large portion of the first twenty-two years after he came to this country. He was married Dec. 23, 1844, to Miss Anne ATHERN, of Yorkshire, England; their children now living are Emma, Charles, Amy and Robert; his wife, Anne, died in 1863, and, on May 28, 1864, he was married to Mrs. Jane JACKSON, daughter of John DAFT, of Staffordshire, England; they have four children - Almira, Maggie, Ada A., and George. Mrs. JACKSON had, when married to Mr. DENBY, two children - Lucy R. and Annie JACKSON. He has a good farm of 160 acres, valued at $8,000.
