O. Plainfield; the subject of this sketch was born in Clark Co., IL, Oct. 8, 1831. He married Miss Hannah C. TENNY Nov. 14, 1850; she was born in Grafton Co., N, H., Aug. 29, 1826; they had eight children, six living, viz., Sarah A., Eunice A., Walter A., Milton H., Ira E. and Carrie H.; Mary E. and William H. died; he lived four years in Clark Co., and then came to Will Co., with his parents, who settled in this township and engaged in farming; he lived here until 1852, when he moved to Kendall Co., IL, and engaged in farming; remained until 1865; he then came to his present place; he owns 189 acres in this township, which he has earned by his own labor. He has been connected with the M,, E. Church for the past twenty-eight years; he is now the Steward, and has been Trustee, Class Leader and Sabbath School Superintendent.
