Braidwood; was born in the county of Roscommon, Ireland, Jan. 3, 1829, and is the son of Andrew and Mary (BANNON) FEELY, of Ireland; his father was a farmer; Mr. FEELY was raised on his father's farm, and in November, 1849, immigrated to America and landed in Boston, Mass.; thence to Dorchester, Mass., one year on a farm; then West to Illinois and settled in Joliet, Will Co., April 5, 1851; here he remained until 1854; he then went to California and engaged in mining in the gold-fields of California for four years and nine months; success very good; he then returned to Illinois, and, May 29, 1859, he settled on the farm he now lives on. Married in 1859 to Miss Wineford LANNON, of Ireland, by whom he has had twelve children, seven living. Mr. FEELY is a Democrat in politics, and a member of the Catholic Church. Owns 280 acres of land. When he first came here the country was very wild. Made all improvements on his farm.
