Fisher & Co.), milling, Wilmington; born in Rochester, N. Y., Feb. 15, 1834; when about 5 years of age, his father's family removed to Illinois, and, after a short stay in Chicago, located in Wilmington, in September, 1839; here his father engaged in the milling business, which he followed up to the time of his death. The subject of this sketch has followed his present business since boyhood, and, in 1860, purchased an interest in the mill; owns forty acres of coal land, valued at $4,000, and city property, including mill interest, valued at $30,000; served as member of City Council in 1870. Married, in 1858, Miss Annie F. FORD, who was born in the North of Ireland; seven children by this union, five living - John T., George R., Frank C., Charles V. and Fannie F.; lost one - Mary C., died in 1867.
