FRYER, farm and loan agent, Sec. 17; P. O. Channahon; the subject of this sketch was born in Schodack Landing, Rensselaer Co., N. Y., July 11, 1818. He married Miss Charlotte BEARDSLEY Oct. 1, 1849; she was born in Litchfield Co., Conn., Nov. 24, 1822; they had six children, five living, viz., Jennie J., Kittie E., Chauncey M., Lotta B. and Leonard S; Albertine M. died. He lived in New York until 1834, when he came to Illinois and settled on his present farm, and lived at home until 1849, when be built his present house (the first regular frame built in this township) and has lived in same since; he was one of the Commissioners appointed to divide the county into townships; he has held the office of Justice of the Peace for twenty-five years, and School Director for fifteen years; he has been Town Collector and is now serving in his fourteenth term as Supervisor; he started in limited circumstances and now owns between three and four hundred acres in this township; his father died in Albany, N. Y; his mother, Mrs. Sarah SCHERMERHORN FOUR, married Mr. M. MOREHOUSE in 1832, and is now living on an adjoining farm.
