J. E. GOUGAR, farmer and dairyman; P. O. Joliet; was born in New Lenox, Will Co., March 21, 1834; excepting the time spent in receiving his education at Beloit, Wis., and Joliet, IL, he has been a permanent resident in New Lenox. He was married to Miss Hattie PERKINS Nov. 24, 1864; she was born in Grundy Co, IL, Dec. 28, 1841; they have had four children, two of whom are living, viz.: Charles P. and Hattie May; deceased - EIla and Florence. Mr. GOUGAR has followed the pursuits of a farmer from boyhood; he now owns 160 acres, valued at $10,000. He has also held the office of Assessor three terms, and Township Collector several years.
