Charles R. HAZELTON, farmer; P. O. Wilmington; was born in Bennington Co., Vt. Dec. 31, 1809; son of Elisha and Mary (KENT) HAZELTON; father was a cloth-dresser by trade. Mr. HAZELTON, was brought up on a farm; in 1833, he moved to Sandusky Co., Ohio, and there engaged in farming about eighteen years; in 1854, he came to Will Co., IL, and settled in Wesley Twp.; he first purchased 160 acres of land; today he ranks as one of the successful farmers of Will Co.; owns 516 acres of fine improved land. Mr. HAZELTON has been married twice; his first wife was Mary WOLCOTT of Sandusky Co., Ohio; second wife Ann BALL; have seven children, two by first wife, and five by the second.
