Cornelius B. JACOBS, farmer and stock-raiser; P. O. Monee; one of the early settlers; was 
born in Germany Feb. 12, 1814; came to the United States in 1854, and to this State in the 
same year and settled in Greengarden, Will Co. He was married to Miss Metto DIERKS, who was 
born in Germany Sept. 27, 1821; they have eight children - Anna, George, Hannah, Catherina, 
Carolina, John, Mena and Matilda. The farm of Mr. JACOBS consists of 121 acres, valued at 
$5,000.
