Daniel LANTZ, farmer; P. O. Aurora; this gentleman was born in Erie Co., Penn., Nov. 23, 1831, and is the son of Peter and Catherine (SCHELLY) LANTZ, of Lancaster Co., Penn.; father was a farmer, and died in Pennsylvania, at about 53 years of age; his mother came West to Will Co., and died in 1870, at 73 years of age; Mr. LANTZ was raised on a farm; he came West with mother and family and settled in Wheatland Twp.; here they first purchased eighty acres of land, set out and commenced farming, and has been engaged in farming in Wheatland Twp. ever since; to-day, owns a fine, improved farm of 120 acres. He married Miss Elizabeth HOLDIMAN, of Pennsylvania, by whom he has had ten children; seven children living. Mr. LANTZ has held several offices of public trust; was Constable some ten years; also School Trustee. Is a member of the Evangelical Church, and is one of the Trustees of this Church.
