George W. MCCUNE, farming, Sec. 26; P. O. Elwood; was born in Will Co., IL, Feb. 25, 1841. 
He married Miss Clara E. HOUGHTON Jan. 28, 1869; she was born at Columbus, Ohio, April 6, 
1849; they have four children, viz., James B., Etta, Emma and William G. He has always 
resided in this county; he is no office-seeker, his only office being connected with the 
schools; he began farming on his own account on becoming of age, and owns 325 acres in 
this township, which he has earned principally by his own labor; his parents settled 
here prior to the Black Hawk war, and fled to Chicago during the same.
