Archibald J. MCINTYRE (deceased), Wilmington Twp. born in Fulton Co., N. Y., in 1814; removed to Illinois in 1837, locating in Wilmington, where he first engaged in farming; afterward, in mercantile pursuits for several years; at the organization of the First National Bank of Wilmington, he became President, which position he hold up to the time of his death, which occurred on the 2d day of March, 1877. In 1865, he was elected to the State Legislature on the Republican ticket, serving during the session of 1865-66. Married in July, 1845, to Miss Jane WHITTEN, who was born in Darling, Canada; by this union there were ten children, seven of whom are living - Annie (wife of M. N. M. STEWART), Nettie, Mary, Maggie, Archibald J., Lottie and Nellie; three deceased - John, Andrew and George.
