G. W. MINARD, M. D., physician, Crete; this gentleman was born in Prattsville, Greene Co., N. Y., Aug. 16, 1825, and is the son of E. B. MINARD, a farmer, who participated in the war of 1812. In 1841, Dr. MINARD, with his parents, emigrated West to Illinois, and settled in Cook Co.; he first commenced the study of medicine in Crete under Dr. H. HITCHCOCK, now of Chicago, IL; he then entered the Indiana Medical College at La Porte, Ind.; here he received sufficient knowledge to commence the practice of medicine; he first located in Lake Co., Ind.; then, in 1849, he commenced the practice of medicine in Crete; here he has remained ever since; to-day is the oldest physician of Crete. He married Miss Melicent G. BROWNELL, of New York.
