Elwood; the subject of this sketch was born in the town of Channahon, Will Co, IL, March 6, 1841; he married Miss Mary SCHOONMAKER Nov. 20, 1862; she was born in Rochester, N. Y., and died July 29, 1866; his second wife was Miss Almira SPENCER, married May 13, 1872; she was born in Troy Twp., this county; he has one child living, by his first wife, viz., Lotta, and two by his present wife, viz, Mary Jane and Laura May; he has always lived in this county, except one year that he lived in McLean Co.; he came to his present place March 29, 1864; he started in poor circumstances, and now owns 160 acres in this township.
