F. MUNCH, dealer in coal, wood, coke, etc., Joliet; is a son of F. X. MUNCH, who came to this country from Alsace, settling in Will Co., in 1839; he served as a soldier in the war with Mexico, and is now a highly respected citizen of Joliet Twp.; his son, F. MUNCH, was born in Joliet Twp., April 3, 1851, and remained at home until he was nineteen years of age, and then spent two summers in working near Minooka; in 1873, he came to Joliet City, and spent two years in the employ of J. Q. A. KING, starting in business for himself in 1875. He was married Nov. 16, 1876, to Miss Jennie HURLEY, daughter of William HURLEY, of Minooka; they have one child - Louis I.
