C. W. MUNN, of Munn & Munn, attorneys at law, Joliet; was born in Waterloo, Wis., Dec. 30, 1848; he is the son of Col. S. W. MUNN, the senior member of the firm; in early childhood, he accompanied his parents to Columbus, Wis.; thence to Madison, Lake Co., Ohio, where the family resided until March, 1854, and then removed to Wilmington, Will Co., IL, coming to Joliet in March, 1864; after receiving an English education, Mr. MUNN entered the law department of the Michigan University, at Ann Arbor, Mich., where he graduated March 29, 1871; he had previously read law in his father's office, and was admitted to the bar Aug. 13, 1870; he began practice in Joliet in April, 1871, and Dec. 1, 1872, formed a partnership with his father, which still continues. He was married in December, 1871, to Miss Helen C. MATTHEWS, of Joliet; she died Sept. 26, 1872, leaving one child - Helen I.; he was married again Jan. 19, 1876, to Miss Lida M. SQUIER, of Livingston, Essex Co., N. Y.; they have one child - Lulu L.
