C. C. OLNEY, manufacturer and dealer in marble and granite monuments, tombstones, etc., Joliet; was born in Perry, Genesee Co., N. Y., June 15, 1833; he is a son of Hiram OLNEY, who came to Will Co. in the fall of 1835, and settled in what is now Homer Twp., and who afterward removed to Manhattan Twp., where he now resides at the age of 78 years. Mr. OLNEY remained at home until he was 19 years of age, and then came to Joliet and began working at the marble-cutter's trade, which has been his business ever since; he is therefore, the oldest marble dealer now in Joliet, having followed the business either for himself or in the employ of others for the past twenty-six years. His business is not confined to Will Co., but extends into Cook, Iroquois, Livingston, Grundy, Kendall, Kankakee and Du Page Co's, IL, and Lake Co., Ind. He was married in January 1868.
