Hiram OLNEY, farming and stock-raising Sec. 3; P.O. Joliet; the subject of this sketch was 
born in Cayuga Co., N. Y. July 13, 1800. He married Miss Harriet DANIELS Jan. 17, 1822; she 
was born in Otsego Co., N. Y., Feb. 22, 1803; they had seven children, four living, viz., 
Cephas C., William H., Marietta A. and Henrietta. He lived in New York until 1835; was 
principally engaged in farming and teaching; he then came West, and settled in the town 
of Homer, this county, and engaged in farming; remained until 1854, when he came to his 
present place, and has remained here since, except six years in Joliet. He owns 120 acres 
in this township. He has been Road Commissioner, Assessor, Town Clerk and Justice of the 
Peace, also Township Trustee; was also Town Clerk in Homer, and Trustee.
