D. W. PADDOCK, retired; P.O. Mokena; one of our first settlers and pioneers; was born in Washington Co., N. Y., June 7, 1810; came to Illinois in 1834, and settled in Cook Co.; he removed to Will Co. in 1849, and settled in New Lenox; he has been a resident of Mokena for the past twenty-five years. He has held the office of Postmaster eleven years and three months. He was married to Miss Julia N. CAMPBELL May 1, 1853; they have had six children, one of whom is living, viz., Harriet; deceased, four infants unnamed and Ira, aged 4 years and 6 months.
