Mungo PATTERSON, farmer; P. O. East Wheatland; was born in Dumfriesshire, Scotland, and is the son of John and Jane (HOWELL) PATTERSON; his father was a farmer; Mr. PATTERSON was raised on his father's farm; in 1841, he emigrated to America, and landed in New York City; he then went to Wayne Co., N. Y.; here he was engaged in farming, and remained there until 1844. While in New York, he was married in 1842 to Miss Agnes CLOW, of Scotland. In 1844, they immigrated West to Illinois, and settled in Wheatland Twp., Will Co.; here he has remained ever since, engaged in farming. Mr. PATTERSON is a Presbyterian in religion. Have six children; John was in the late war; enlisted in the 52d I. V. I., served full time and at the close of the war was honorably discharged, and is now living in Indiana.
