Nelson REED, farmer, Sec. 9; P. O. Lockport; was born in Ontario Co., N. Y., Dec. 4, 1827; he lived with his parents until 9 years of age, when he was thrown upon his own resources, and has made his way in life upon his own exertions ever since; he came to this county in January, 1852, and first settled on a farm in Sec. 9; in 1872, he purchased the farm he now resides on, his wife's parents, James and Eve RITCHEY, residing with them from that time. Has been School Director several terms, and is so at present. Married Miss Margaret RITCHEY in Homer Twp. Jan. 21, 1858; she was born on the "Ritchey Homestead," Nov. 6, 1838; they have four children - Carson, born Feb. 19, 1860; William R., April 14, 1866; Mary P., Dec. 8, 1868, and Harry, Oct. 25, 1874.
