John ROBINS, farmer; P. O. East Wheatland; was born in the Isle of Wight, England, Feb. 7, 1824, 
and is the son of James and Sarah Robins; his father was a pilot; he, with wife and family in 
1843, emigrated to America; came direct to Illinois, and settled in Wheatland Twp.; here they 
purchased forty acres of land, and built a small houses and commenced farming; father died the 
second winter after they came here; mother died Oct. 6, 1870, aged 78 years.
