Jacob ROSS, farmer and stock-raiser; P. O. Frankfort Station; was born in Germany July 4, 1838; came to the United States in 1860, and to this State the same year and settled in Cook Co.; he has been a resident of Greengarden for the past ten years; his farm consists of eighty acres, valued at $4,000. He was married to Miss Mary SANGMEISTER, who was born in Germany; they have one child, viz., Eliza. Since Mr. R.'s residence in the township, he has filled the offices of Road Commissioner and School Director three years. He was also a participant in the late war, having enlisted in the 57th I. V. I.; served three years and eight months, and was discharged with honor at the close of the war, A. D. 1865.
