Conrad SCHWEIZER, wholesale dealer in wines and liquors, Joliet; is a native of Switzerland; 
he was born Nov. 25, 1838, and resided there until 1859, when he came to the United States, 
coming direct to Joliet; he had previously learned the trade of a carpenter, and, after 
reaching Joliet, he followed carpentering and farming till 1863, when he went to California 
and reimained until the spring of 1870; while there he was engaged in mining and working at 
his trade; on his return to Joliet, he engaged in his present business.
