Wilmington; born in Wilmington Twp., Will Co., IL, July 14, 1838 and is a son of Peter STEWART, who settled there in the spring of 1836; this has been the home of Mr. STEWART since childhood, and he is the oldest native-born of Wilmington Twp. now living; owns an undivided interest in 1,400 acres of farm lands. He was a member of the City Council in 1868, and has served as President of the Board of School Inspectors one term. In 1863, he was married to Miss Emily, daughter of Charles STOWELL; she was born in St. Charles, Kane Co., IL; two children by this union - Edward P. and Charles J. Mr. STEWART is giving considerable attention to raising fine cattle for Chicago and other markets.
