O. Joliet; was born in Cur Hessen, Germany, Aug. 16, 1829. He married Miss Christianna WINNEKA April 2, 1866; she was born in the same place in Germany Aug. 21, 1843; they had three children, two living, viz., Henry August and Christian Frederick. He lived in Germany twenty-eight years, working at his trade of stone mason; he then came to the United States, and settled in Will Co., IL, at Troutman's Grove, where he engaged in farming, and remained fourteen years, and then came to his present place, and has lived here since. He came to this county in poor circumstances, working by the mouth; he now owns 160 acres in this township, which he has earned by his own labor.
