Wilmington; the subject of this sketch was born in the Isle of Man, February, 1844, and is the son of William TRAINER, who was born in the Isle of Man, 1798; was engaged in farming, and, in 1853, emigrated to America, starting with his wife and five children, but on the way, at sea, his wife died, leaving him with his five children; they landed in New York city; then went direct to Illinois, and settled on the farm they now live on; when Mr. William TRAINER first came here, he was worth about $1,000, invested in land; and, with the help of his four sons, they labored hard, and at his death he was one of the respected farmers of Will Co, leaving 301 acres of land.
