TROTT (TROTT & STINSON) homeopathic physician, Wilmington; born in Whitefield, Lincoln Co., Me., Oct. 26, 1842; he received his early education at the Maine Wesleyan Seminary, located at Readfield, Me.; in the winter of 1864 and 1865, he attended lectures at the Commercial Hospital and Eclectic Medical Institute at Cincinnati, Ohio, graduating at the Hahnemann Medical College at Chicago in 1867; he commenced the practice of medicine in Iroquois Co., this State, in 1866, and two years later removed to Wilmington, his present home, where be has been in the constant practice of his profession since, having also taken an active part in the business interests of the city, especially in connection with the water-power, being instrument in securing the location of the paper-mill and the adoption by the City Council of the Holly system for protecting the city from fire; elected Mayor of the city of Wilmington in March, 1877, and is the present incumbent. Married in 1873 to Miss Augusta J. SWARTHOUT, who was born in Romulus, Seneca Co., N. Y.; one child by this union - Josephine.
