New Bremen; one of our early settlers; was born in Germany, March 1, 1821; came to the United States in 1846, and to this State, and settled in Frankfort, Will Co., in the same year; his farm consists of 240 acres, valued at $12,000; it is situated on Sec 12, in Frankfort Tp., and on Sec. ?? in Rich Tp., Cook Co. Mr. W. was married to Miss Mary CUNZ, who was born in Germany; they have eight children, viz., August, John, George, Elizabeth, Martin, Philipp, Henry and Reitz. Mr. W., since his residence in the township, has held the offices of School Director and Road Commissioner several years.
