O., Aurora; was born in Germany, Feb. 15, 1824, and is the son of Henry and Doris, (LEAPSTOLF) WESTPHAL, of Germany; his father was a farmer; here Mr. WESTPHAL was raised on his father's farm, and, in 1857, with his parents, emigrated to America; he came direct to Illinois, and settled in Du Page Co.; then to Will Co., and settled in Wheatland Twp.; his father and mother both died in Wheatland Twp.; when they came to this country they were very poor, but, with hard labor and good management, Mr. WESTPHAL ranks to-day as one of the successful farmers of Will Co.; owns 245 acres of fine, improved land. He married Miss Sophia WORNKEY of Germany, by whom he has had six children - four living. He is a member of the German Lutheran Church, and was one of the first members of this Church in Wheatland Twp.
