Grinton Lists Pioneer Dead–Necrologist of County Association Prepares Roll of Those Passed Away.–Shows Many Gone–Many Prominent Men Are Among Departed Members of This Organization.–

William GRINTON, necrologist of the Will County Pioneers’ Association, prepared a list of prominent residents of Will county during the year for the annual meeting of the association Oct. 4. This list was not completed in time for the meeting, a number of additions having to be made. Mr. Grinton has collected the data as to such deaths with a great deal of care so as to complete the record for the association. The following is the complete list:

Reuben ATKINS, aged 75, died at Joliet, June17,1913,born in Joliet, January 20, 1837.

Patrick BRISCOE, 64-year resident of Channahon township, died September 3, 1913, 81 years of age.

Thomas COOPER, of New Lenox, died January 15, 1913, at San Rafael, California, January 5, 1913.

John W. DALY, one of the oldest pioneers of Will county, died in Lockport township, February 24, 1913. He was born in Ireland, November 4, 1825.

Mrs. Charles DAMM, of Lockport, died January 27, 1913, at the age of 72.

George DAMM, 86 years old, and a resident of Homer for 48 years, died March 9, 1913.

Mrs. Elizabeth DRAUDEN, a Plainfield pioneer, died February 28, 1913, age 78 years, 6 months.

Mrs. William DINGLEY, formerly of Joliet, died at Adrian, Michigan, November 10, 1912.

Mrs. Jeanette DUCKER, died August 10, 1913, at the age of 81 years.

Daniel B. DYER, son of Col. George R. DYER, former sheriff of Will County, died at Kansas City, 1913.

Mrs. John H. GARNSEY, died at Joliet, October 18, 1913.

Albert L. GRANGER, born in Will county, September 20, 1843, died at Ramona Park, California, August 16, 1913.

Thomas R. HAY, born in Scotland, March 15, 1830, died at Joliet, December 30, 1912.

William HARWOOD, died June 8, 1913, at the age of 84 years.

Mrs. Josephine Hyland HARRIS, born in Joliet, October 14, 1844, died at Plainfield, April 17, 1913.

James W. MARTIN, born February 26, 1846 in Wilmington, died in Joliet, September 18, 1913.

Uziah MACK, died in Arizona, July 29, 1912, and was buried at Oakwood in Joliet.

Mrs. John MAU, a pioneer of Mokena, died March, aged 93.

Mrs. Fannie McALLISTER, widow of Capt. Edward McALLISTER, died at her home in Plainfield.

Mrs. E. R. McCLELLAN, died in Plainfield, January 19, 1913.

Mrs. Martha MEYERS, a 54-year old resident of Joliet, died January 3, 1913, aged 71 years.

Henry R. OSGOOD, youngest son of Uri OSGOOD, a Joliet pioneer, died at San Rafael, California.

Alonzo Eugene RUDD, born in Joliet in 1842, died at Wichita, Kansas, June 3, 1913.

John SCHMEIZER, born in Bavaria, Germany, in 1836, died in Joliet, December 20, 1912.

Adam WERNER, born in Giving, Germany, August 6, 1833, died at Salem Home, Joliet, December, 1912.

Sarah WILLIAMS, wife of Solomon WILLIAMS, born Plains, Pennsylvania, September 1, 1831, died Joliet, June 22, 1913.

William Wallace WOOD, born in Boasker, New York, July 11, 1835, died Joliet, June 19, 1913.

Christ ZINK, born in Germany, November 13, 1855, died in Joliet, June 16, 1913, 57 years, 7 months, 3 days.

Rev. Griffith R. EVANS, born in Carnarvinshire, North Wales, May 21, 1831, died in Joliet, September 2, 1913.

Robert H. JOHNSON, died at Channahon August 20, 1830 (sic.), at the age of 71. He was born in Joliet.

Mrs. Mary WARD, Lockport, pioneer of 57 years, died August 28, 1913.

George D. FARVOID, an old time resident of Lockport and Joliet, died in New Haven, Connecticut, and was buried at Joliet, September 23, 1913.

Layfette M. HENZE, died September 18, 1913, aged 79.

George S. GREENWOOD, aged 75 years, died September 22, 1913, at his home in New Lenox. He had lived 73 years in Will county.

Mrs. Clara A. N. PLATT, born at Utica, New York, June 21, 1836, died September 28, 1913. She had lived in Plainfield since 1842.

Archibald M. STEPHENSON, aged 69 years, died a St. Luke’s Hospital, Utica, New York.

Jessie Grinton ROWEN, aged 37 years, died in Joliet, August 1, 1913.

Mrs. Eleanor JONES, born in England, for 53 years a resident of Will county, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John C. BAKER, in Manhattan, October 4, 1912, aged 89 years.

Carrie L. BEARSE, born June 10, 1837, died November 22, 1912.

Hugo BOEHME, (architect), born in Hamberg Germany, October 11, 1847, died in Joliet, May 23, 1913, 65 years, 7 months, 12 days.

Ida May BROOKMAN, born in Troy township, April 4, 1870, died in Troy, October 29, 1912.

Harriet Hobbs BROWN, born in Maryland, July 9, 1822, died in Joliet, February 6, 1913, 91 years, 28 days.

Mrs. Oliver BURLINGAME, born in New York state, May 17, 1830, died in Joliet, May 23, 1913, 83 years.

Rebecca COX, born in New Jersey, October 31, 1812, died in Wilmington, April 16, 1913, 100 years, 5 months, 15 days.

William DAVIDSON, born in Tallantyre, England, October 28, 1827, died in Joliet, March 25, 1913, 83 years, 11 months, 9 days.

Ann Eliza DEMMOND, born in Joliet, December 2, 1836, died October 15, 1912.

Mrs. Rebecca WILES, a New Lenox pioneer, aged 92 years, died January 26, 1913.
