Mr. President and Members of the Association:
Again has the annual reunion of this Association rolled around and you are once more assembled to hold social converse and renew the pleasant remembrances and associations of long ago.
My report to you for the current year is a long one much longer than any that have preceded it, and it contains the names of many an old acquaintance to some of you who have so long dwelt in your midst and are so familiar with the early history of the county and its early settlers. Several of the very earliest pioneers of this section have died during the year, while the list of those who were born here in the county is an unusually large one. There was one death that occurred just previous to our last reunion, that of Leonard FRYER, who died at Peoria, August 31st, 1902, at the age of 40 years. He was a son of the late J. N. FRYER, Esq. Of Channahon, and was a native of that town.
Those who have departed since my last report are as follows:
September 1902
2. Fred KOUKA, of Washington township, aged 80 years. He had lived there 45 years.
3. Bred LUCKOW, of Beecher, aged 81 years. He was an old resident of that part of the county.
7. Mrs. Helen A. HENDERSON, of Joliet, aged 88 years. She was the widow of the late Judge Hugh HENDERSON and came to Joliet in the fall of 1836.
7. Maurice OREILLY, of Chicago, aged 42 years. He was a son of James OREILLY, of this city, and was born here.
7. Mrs. Mary McGINNIS, of Lockport, aged 70 years. She was one of the older residents of the town.
8. Martin R. SEXTON, of Joliet, aged 34 years. He had lived here all his life.
8. James F. RILEY, of Troy township, aged 35 years. He was a native of the town.
10. Mrs. Finette (GILLETTE), widow of the late Isaac M. GILLETTE, of Homer, aged 88 years. He came to this county in 1855.
11. John HAAS, of Beecher, aged 85 years. He was one of the pioneers of eastern Will county.
17. John S. TAYLOR, of Chicago, aged 63 years. He was a son of A. H. TAYLOR, who owned the stone quarry near the prison some 45 years ago.
17. Miss Mary KAVANAGH, of Troy township, aged 75 years, She had lived in that vicinity for 50 years.
17. John F. NICHOLAS, of Washington township, aged 79 years. A resident of that vicinity for 45 years.
17. Fred SEITZ, Sr., of Beecher, aged 80 years. He had lived there 45 years.
18. Mrs. Mary (FOUSER), wife of David FOUSER, of Plainfield, aged 60 years. She had lived there 56 years.
20. Mrs. Elizabeth N. (BELDEN), wife of S. O. BELDEN, of Joliet, aged 66 years. She had lived here since she was 5 years old.
21. M. P. SCHUSTER, of Joliet, aged 57 years. He had been a resident of the county over 40 years.
20. James CARR, of Joliet, aged 88 years. He was an old resident of the state.
20. Mrs. Ellen (DELANEY), wife of Thos. DELANEY, of Joliet, aged 74 years. A resident here for 50 years.
23. Mrs. Margaret C.(BOND), widow of the late Samuel BOND, of Joliet, aged 87 years. She had lived here since 1854.
25. J. Henry SCHOOP, of Manhattan, aged 79 years. He had been a resident of the county for 45 years.
26. James SHREEVE, of Sparrow Point, Md., aged 85 years. He was an old resident of this city.
27. Mrs. Matilda (GREENWOOD), wife of Geo. S. GREENWOOD, of New Lenox, aged 64 years. She was a native of the county.
29. Joseph EBNER, Sr., of Joliet, aged 68 years. He had lived here 32 years.
29. Mrs. Sarah (METZ), wife of Martin METZ, of Jackson, aged 74 years. She was a resident of the county for 40 years.
30. Mary G. (CARLISLE), wife of Wm. CARLISLE, of Braidwood, aged 64 years. She had lived in the county since 1864.
October 1902
2. Mrs. Rose E. (ELMERS), wife of W. H. ELMERS, of Humphrey, Neb., aged 34 years. She was a native of Lockport and that was her home for 20 years.
3. Mrs. Charlotte Amelia (Cross) JONES, wife of Jason Wright JONES, formerly of Frankfort township, aged 73 years. She came to this county nearly 60 years ago.
3. Wm. TROTTER, of Lockport, aged 55 years. He was a native of that town.
4. Mrs. Jane A. BREEN, of Lockport, aged 83 years. She had lived in that vicinity for 45 years.
4. John SCHOOP, Sr., of New Lenox, aged 75 years. He was one of the oldest residents of the township.
4. C. A. HUTSON, of Joliet, aged 83 years. He came here in 1854.
4. Mrs. Peter HANSON, of Monee, aged 58 years. She was an old resident of that town.
5. Mrs. Mary (OTZEN), wife of John OTZEN, of Chicago, aged 39 years. She was a native of Monee and lived there until a few years ago.
8. Mrs. Sophia BANZER, of Crete, aged 80 years. A resident there for 40 years.
8. Rev. F. A. REED, of Chicago, aged 80 years. He formerly lived in Joliet, coming here with his parents in 1837, and this was his home until one year ago.
9. Mrs. Rachel WARNER, of Yankton, S. D., aged 83 years. She was the widow of the late Alfred WARNER, an old resident of Wesley township.
9. Mrs. Fredericka SASSE, of Elwood, aged 80 years. A Resident of the county for more than 40 years.
10. Mrs. Elizabeth (CORBIN), wife of Royal CORBIN, of Wilmington, aged 60 years. She came there when she was but a small child.
11. Jacob ULRICH, of Homer, aged 33 years. He was a native of the town.
11. Mrs. Caroline E. (NICHOLSON), wife of Wm. NICHOLSON, of Elwood, aged 70 years. She was an old resident of the town.
12. Wm. H. BUSH, of Joliet, aged 80 years. He had lived here for more than 50 years.
13. John GOUGAR, of New Lenox, aged 92 years. He came to the town in 1830 and settled upon the farm on which he died and that was his home for a period of 72 years. He was the oldest of all old settlers in the county.
13. Mrs. Hannah PECKHART, of Wesley township, aged 82 years. She lived there 40 years.
13. Mrs. Catherine (WILLARD), wife of Cornelius S. WILLARD, of Channahon, aged 65 years. She came to the county when she was but a child.
15. Mrs. Honora (LONERGAN), wife of James LONERGAN, of Channahon, aged 75 years. She had lived in that town more than 40 years.
16. Wm. S. HILL, of Joliet, aged 79 years. He had lived here nearly 60 years.
19. Mrs. Daniel SHARP, of Will township, aged 48 years. She had lived there 44 years.
20. Mrs. Charlotte B. (WARD), of Newark, N. J., widow of the late David WARD, of Joliet, aged 82 years. She formerly lived in Joliet, coming here some 50 years ago, and this was her home for many years.
20. James WOOD, of Seneca, Ill., aged 83 years. He formerly resided in this county, coming here in 1836.
21. Edwin D. OLNEY, of Sacramento, Cal., aged 33 years. He was the son of C. C. OLNEY, formerly a well known citizen of this county, and was born in Joliet.
21. Wm. H. NOBLE, of Wilmington, aged 87 years. He had lived there more than 50 years.
21. Geo. W. MERRITT, of Joliet, aged 37 years. He was a native of the county.
21. David SKINNER, of Braidwood, aged 80 years. He was one of the early settlers of the town.
23. Mrs. Cornelia B. DANIELS, of Monee, aged 72 years. She was the widow of the late C. K. DANIELS of that town and had lived there over 40 years.
24. Michael LYONS, of Joliet, aged 71 years. He came here in 1870.
24. Mrs. Wilhelmina (BOBZIN), widow of the late John BOBZIN, of Green Garden, aged 81 years. She had lived there since 1850.
25. Frank BURGEL, of Joliet, aged 43 years. He was a native here.
31. Mrs. Hannah E. (CAMPBELL), of Patton, Cal., aged 60 years. She was a native of this county.
31. Wm. D. TROTTER, of Lockport, aged 47 years. He was a native of the town.
November 1902
2. Wm. RICHTER, of Joliet, aged 52 years. He was a native of the state and had lived in the county many years.
3. Miss Sophia G. KENYON, of Joliet, aged 52 years. She came to the county when she was 12 years old and here had since been her home. She was a successful teacher in our city schools for several years.
4. Martin RINEHART, of Dwight, aged 58 years. He was an old resident of Lockport.
5. Mrs. Ann (BOLES), widow of the late John BOLES, of Joliet, aged 65 years. She had lived here 45 years.
6. Hans ENGLEKING, of Beecher, aged 70 years. He had lived there 45 years.
7. Mrs. Louisa E. GORHAM, of Joliet, aged 76 years. She was the widow of the late Akin H. GORHAM, of Homer, and had been a resident of the county 40 years.
8. Eli C. SHEAFFER, of Wetherford, Okla., aged 76 years. He was an old resident of Lockport, coming there in 1849, and that was his home for many years.
8. Thos. H. PATTERSON, of Joliet, aged 73 years. He had lived here since 1865.
11. Mrs. Jessie (MURRY), wife of Thomas MURRY, of Lockport, aged 52 years. She had lived there 32 years.
13. E. W. ATTAWAY, of Joliet, aged 56 years. He had lived in the county 51 years.
17. Mrs. Agnes R. THOMAS, of Lockport, aged 50 years. She was a native of the town.
18. Christian REICHERT, of Crete, aged 86 years. He had been a resident there for 62 years.
18. Mrs. James BOWEN, of Valley Center, Kansas, aged 70 years. She formerly lived in Green Garden and Frankfort in this county, where she was an early settler.
19. Mrs. Agnes McVICKARS, of Braidwood, aged 80 years. She had lived in that vicinity nearly 40 years.
20. Daniel DELANEY, of Joliet, aged 45 years. He was a native of the county.
23. Mrs. Margaret D. (BENNETT), wife of N. T. BENNETT, of Joliet, aged 65 years. She had lived in this vicinity more than 40 years.
24. Jacob GORICH, of Joliet, aged 76 years. He had lived here since the early fifties.
25. John J. ALLEN, of London, Eng,. Aged 44 years. He was a native of Wilmington and that was his home until a few years ago.
26. John HOYE, of Custer Park, aged 76 years. He had lived in the county over 40 years.
26. Elton LUTZ, formerly of Manhattan, aged 32 years. He was a native of the town.
27. Jacob S. BECKER, of Daytona, Fla., aged 80 years. He was formerly a well known resident of Plainfield, coming there when but a boy.
27. Felix KEELEY, of Wilmington, aged 63 years. He had lived in that vicinity 50 years.
28. Mrs. Katherine BURKE, of Chicago, aged 73 years. She was one of the early settlers of Wilton township.
28. Mrs. Christiana BAUCH, of Joliet, aged 66 years. She had lived in the county nearly 50 years.
28. Mrs. Mary STRYKER, of Lockport, aged 79 years. She was the widow of the late James STRYKER of that town, and had lived there 52 years.
29. Conrad SIEBEL, an old resident of Green Garden, aged 65 years, He came there in 1865.
29. Henry CRON, of Joliet, aged 56 years. He had lived here 40 years.
30. Mrs. Ann (BIRKETT), of Plainfield, aged 87 years. She came to the county with her husband in 1839.
30. Levi W. LANG, of Mountain View, Cal., aged 63 years. He was the son of the late Thos. J. LANG, of Plainfield, and was born in that town.
December 1902
2. Wm. KURKAMP, of Manhattan, aged 81 years. He had lived in the county 49 years.
2. Mrs. Elizabeth BINGHAM, of Plainfield, aged 78 years. She was an early settler of that town.
2. Alex. McKEENEY, of Joliet, aged 72 years. He had lived here 35 years.
3. James A. PERRY, of Wilmington, aged 72 years. He had lived in that vicinity for 50 years.
4. Mrs. Amelia C. (STARMANN), wife of J. F. Starmann, of New Lenox, aged 69 years. She was an old resident of Will county.
4. Mrs. Melinda (IRISH), wife of Benj. IRISH, of Joliet, aged 74 years. She had lived here more than 60 years.
7. Mrs. Catherine CORCORAN, of Wilmington, aged 82 years. She had lived there 45 years.
7. Miss Elizabeth PATTERSON, of Wheatland, aged 32 years. She was a native of that town.
7. Phillip KEERY, of Washington township, aged 78 years. He had lived in that vicinity 52 years.
8. Mrs. S. Augusta (GAY), wife of Freeman GAY, of Los Angeles, Cal., aged 82 years. Mr. and Mrs. Gay formerly lived in Jackson township, coming there in 1845, and that was their home for most of the time until 1884.
9. Henry SHUTTS, of Oregon, Mo., aged 60 years. He was the eldest son of the late John SHUTTS, of Joliet, and came here with his parents in 1855, and this was his home for many years.
9. Mrs. Marilla P. CORNWALL, of Joliet, aged 83 years. She had lived in the county 37 years.
10. John SMITH, of Joliet, aged 70 years. He had lived in the county 60 years.
10. Mrs. Eliza A. (WILSON), widow of the late W. C. WILSON, of New Lenox, aged 79 years. She was the daughter of the late Wm. GOUGAR, of New Lenox, and came to that town with her parents in 1831.
12. Mrs. Adelia (PARRENT), wife of Albert G. PARRENT, of Joliet, aged 59 years. She was a native of this town.
13. Mrs. Emma (IMMER), wife of Barney IMMAR, of Chicago, aged 37 years. She was born in Monee and there grew to womanhood.
13. Mrs. John SCHENICK, of Mokena, aged 75 years. She had lived there some 40 years.
13. Aaron Barnes, of Lockport, aged 86 years. He had been a resident of the town 52 years.
14. Mrs. Julia A. (MATHEWSON), wife of A. J. MATHEWSON, of Lockport, aged 80 years. She had lived there since 1844.
14. Mrs. W. P. DILLMAN, of Sacramento, Cal,. Aged 69 years, She was formerly a resident of Joliet, coming here over 40 years ago, and this was her home for many years.
15. Mrs. Orra E. (JOHNSON), wife of A. L. JOHNSON, of Detroit, aged 48 years. She was a daughter of W. L. VANDENBURG, of Joliet. And an old resident here.
16. Mrs. Ellen T. (CAREY), wife of Thos. CAREY, of Symerton, aged 46 years. She was a native of the county.
16. Mrs. Thos. GANNON, of Kankakee, aged 67 years. She was formerly a resident of Joliet, coming here in 1852, and this was her home until 1863.
18. Miss Henrietta MUELLER, of Monee, aged 34 years. She was a native of that town.
18. John POOLE, of Joliet, aged 75 years. He had lived in this vicinity 50 years.
20. Wm. H. NUGENT, of Wilton, aged 45 years. He was a native there.
20. Mrs. Margaret KELLY, of Joliet, aged 73 years. She had lived here quite 40 years.
21. DeWitt C. GOODING, of Chicago, aged 77 years. He was an old resident of Lockport, coming there with his parents in 1834.
21. John LANG, of Chicago, aged 48 years. He was a native of Channahon and there grew to manhood.
21. Florence McCARTHY, of Joliet, aged 56 years. He had lived here since early boyhood.
21. Horace HUMPHREY, of Joliet, aged 75 years. He had lived here since 1854.
21. Lemuel M. HODGDON, of Joliet, aged 70 years. He had lived in the state 50 years and was an old resident of this city.
24. Mrs. Mary A. R. JEWELL, of Joliet, aged 42 years. She was a native of the county.
25. Miss Maggie BAIN, of Brownsville, Tenn., aged 90 years. She was one of the pioneers of Will township and lived there many years.
25. Mrs. Mary (MALONEY), widow of the late Daniel MALONEY, of Joliet, aged 83 years. She had lived here some 50 years.
27. Winthrop WRIGHT, of Plainfield, aged 90 years. He came there in 1836 and has lived there ever since.
28. Mrs. Sarah E. (EDGERLY), wife of L. G. EDGERLY, of Joliet, aged 83 years. She was a native of the state of Maine, but had lived in this vicinity for 50 years.
28. F. H. WILLIAMS, of Joliet, aged 59 years. He was a son of the late Alanson WILLIAMS, of this city, and came here when he was but a child.
28. Joseph KALLIS, of Wilmington, aged 46 years. He was a native here.
31. Benj. IRISH, of Joliet, aged 83 years. He had lived here since he was 16 years old.
31. Mrs. Emeline SAMMONS, of Joliet, aged 82 years. She was the widow of the late Wm. T. SAMMONS, of Troy township, and had lived in the county 50 years.
31. Mrs. Bridget McNIFF, of Joliet, aged 76 years. She came here 45 years ago.

1. Mrs. Martha (BROWN), wife of Alonzo BROWN, of Larned, Kan., aged 74 years. She was formerly a resident of Peotone, where she settled nearly 50 years ago, and that was her home for 25 years.
1. J. M. Jacobs, of Homer, aged 42 years. He was a native of the town.
2. Mrs. Catherine (POTTS), widow of the late Geo. W, POTTS, of Joliet, aged 63 years. She was an old resident of the county.
2. Mrs. Mary GLEASON, of Lockport, aged 86 years. She was the widow of the late Patrick GLEASON, and had lived there 60 years.
3. Mrs. Caroline L. SMITH, widow of the late Marcus L. SMITH, of Daytona, Fla., aged 73 years. She was formerly a well known resident of Plainfield, coming there some 50 years ago.
3. James MEECHAN, of Lockport, aged 84 years. He had lived there 50 years.
4. Thos. HARDY, of Kankakee, Ill., aged 90 years. He was formerly a resident of this county. He settled near Romeo in 1836 and lived there for several years.
4. Mrs. Anna WILSON, of Joliet, aged 50 years. She was a native here.
4. Wm. MYER, of Lockport, aged 80 years. He had lived in that vicinity for 46 years.
6. Norman CARL, of Gilroy, Cal., aged 71 years. He was formerly a well known resident of this county, coming here with his parents 65 years ago.
6. Mrs. Ezra WRIGHT, of Chicago, aged 80 years. She was one of the early settlers of Plainfield and lived there many years.
7. Michael F. Sanders, of Frankfort, aged 84 years. He had lived in the county since 1847.
8. Mrs. Mary J. TITUS, of Wilmington, aged 92 years. She had lived there for half a century.
9. Mrs. Charlotte (WORTHEN), wife of Perry WORTHEN, of Plainfield, aged 68 years. She had lived in that vicinity over 50 years.
11. Mrs. J. PURVIS, of Chicago, aged 71 years. She was an old resident of Wheatland township.
15. Geo. BAUCH, of Frankfort, aged 76 years. He had lived in the county since 1851.
16. Mrs. Della L. ROWLEY, of New Lenox, aged 40 years. She was a native of that town.
17. Wm. OCONNOR, of Joliet, aged 58 years. He had lived here 40 years.
17. John N. LAUER, of Frankfort, aged 78 years. He had lived in that vicinity since 1864.
17. Jackson CROSSEN, of Joliet, aged 69 years. He had lived here since 1865.
20. Robert D. WEBB, of Plainfield, aged 73 years. He had lived there over 50 years.
20. Adolph SCHLUTER, of Joliet, aged 70 years. He had lived in this vicinity 38 years.
20. Mrs. Maria MARTINS, of Channahon, aged 70 years. She had lived there more than 40 years.
20. Geo. W. DAVIS, of Naperville, Ill., aged 81 years. He was an old resident of Wheatland township.
20. Mrs. Jane L.(CHAMBERLIN), widow of the late Wm. CHAMBERLIN, of Peotone, aged 63 years. She had lived in the county 41 years.
21. Joseph BRERETON, of Joliet, aged 78 years. He had lived in the county for more than 50 years.
22. Mrs. Adele R. THARPE, of Joliet, aged 53 years. She had lived here 40 years.
23. Mrs. Clarissa GAYLORD, of Hepler, Kan., aged 90 years. She was formerly a well known resident of Plainfield, coming there at least 50 years ago.
24. Rollin F. GORHAM, of Littleton, N. H., aged 88 years. He was one of the early settlers of Homer and this county was his home until a few years ago.
24. Joseph B. Street, of Joliet, aged 52 years. He had lived in the county 47 years.
25. Mrs. Milicent G. MINARD, of Crete, aged 76 years. She was the widow of the late Dr. MINARD of that town and one of its oldest citizens.
25. Albert BISCHEL, of Nez Perce, Idaho, aged 38 years, He was a native of Monee.
27. Mrs. Nancy M. BATES, of Channahon, aged 80 years. She was the widow of the late Elijah E. BATES of that town and came to the county 50 years ago.
27. Patrick BURKE, of Reed township, aged 73 years. He was one of the earliest settlers of that town, having lived there 50 years.
28. Mrs. Fanny (GRAVES), wife of Addison B. GRAVES, of Joliet, aged 64 years. She had lived in the county 56 years.
29. Wm. THOMAS, of Ottawa, aged 82 years. He was formerly connected with the Illinois and Michigan canal and lived in Lockport, coming there in 1857.
31. Mrs. Mary H. REINHART, wife of Adolphus YONKER, of Joliet, aged 62 years. She came to the county in 1852.
February 1903
1. Wm. SWANSBRO, of Braidwood, aged 77 years. He had live in that vicinity 34 years.
2. Samuel W. MORGAN, of Plainfield, aged 68 years. This county had been his home for 66 years.
2. Mrs. Margaret MAHONEY, of Florence township, aged 89 years. She had lived there 48 years.
5. James A. FAROVID, of Chicago, aged 66 years. He formerly was a resident of this county, coming here with his parents when but a small child.
5. Chas. H. ERNST, of Lockport, aged 69 years. He had lived in the county since 1854.
6. Mrs. Anna SCHWEPPE, of Crete, aged 77 years. She had been a resident of that town for 50 years.
6. Sylvanus LYNK, of Marshalltown, Iowa, aged 79 years. He was formerly a well known resident of New Lenox.
6. John BOVEE, of Joliet, aged 72 years. He had lived in this vicinity since 1854.
7. David H. ALDRICH, of Wilmington, aged 90 years. He had lived there for more than half a century.
8. Mrs. Emma (HUCHINSON), wife of Dayton HUCHINSON, of Jackson, aged 44 years. She was a native of the county.

8. Henry VOIGHT, of Monee, aged 83 years. He had lived in that vicinity for 50 years.
10. Henry REED, of Homer, aged 77 years. He had lived there 50 years.
10. Mrs. Anna M. RATCHKE, of Joliet, aged 58 years. She came here in 1864.
10. Mrs. Madeline GRIFFIN, of Wilmington, aged 72 years. She had lived there since 1870.
11. Mrs. Mary (WARD), widow of the late Joseph WARD, of Lockport, aged 88 years. She had lived there nearly 40 years.
11. Mrs. Calura MYERS, of Wilmington, aged 77 years. She was an old resident there.

13. Thomas J. DAY, of Lockport, aged 70 years. He was a good soldier in the civil war and had lived in that town nearly 50 years.
14. Edward GRAHAM, of Goodenow Station, aged 66 years. He had lived in that vicinity nearly all his life.
14. Jacob RHINE, of Joliet, aged 82 years. He had lived here 50 years.
16. Thos. CLEVERDON, of Chicago, aged 77 years. He was formerly a well known resident of Joliet, coming here in 1858, and this was his home until 1892.
19. Mrs. Margarett HYND, of Braidwood, aged 74 years. She was an old resident of that part of the county.
20. Cas. W. LARAWAY, of Ann Arbor, Mich., aged 46 years. He was a native of this town and this was his home for 40 years.
21. Mrs. Caroline MUELLER, of Joliet, aged 72 years. She had lived here 35 years.
21. Mrs. Lizzie D. KLIPPINGER, of Lockport, aged 65 years. A resident of that vicinity for 48 years.
22. Mrs. Elizabeth (RUDER), wife of Geo. RUDER, of Monee, aged 70 years. She had lived there 50 years.
23. Mrs. Veronica (LENNON), wife of Wm. LENNON, of Joliet, aged 40 years. She was a native of Troy township.
23. Christian KLEMME, of Crete township, aged 78 years. He had lived in Eastern Will county for 50 years.
24. Mrs. Fredericke E. C. YAHN, of Mokena, aged 82 years. She was the widow of the late Prof. YAHN, who was killed in the civil war in 1865. She had lived there 40 years.
25. Giles D. FOSTER, of Plainfield, aged 83 years. He had lived there since 1844.

14. Ira ROBBINS, of Bradley, Ill., aged 71 years. He formerly lived in Wilton township, coming there in 1851. He enlisted in the 100th Regiment in the civil war and made a good soldier.

19. Patrick BYRON, of Joliet, aged 85 years. He had lived here nearly 50 years.
20. Peter SCHLANDER, of Peotone, aged 60 years. He was one of the pioneers of Eastern Will county, having come there with his parents some 50 years ago.
20. Frank H. CONNELL, of Nashville, Tenn., aged 61 years. He was formerly a well known resident of this city, coming here at an early day and was for many years one of our most prominent citizens.

12. Mrs. Helen M. (BECKWITH, possibly BECKWAN) wife of Albert G. BECKWITH (possibly BECKWAN), of Plainfield, aged 75 years. That had been her home since 1851.

15. John NICHOLAS, of Wilton, aged 80 years. He was one of the oldest residents there.
16. John COADY, an old resident of Lockport, aged 66 years. He had lived there 40 years.
17. Thomas WHITLY, of Chicago, aged 70 years. He was formerly a prominent citizen of Plainfield.
18. Melchoir FETCHER, of Troy township, aged 84 years. He was one of the oldest of the residents of the county.
20. Robert H. VAN DUSEN, of Joliet, aged 59 years. He came here 44 years ago.
24. Wm. D. LEASURE, of Wesley township, aged 73 years. He had lived there since 1857.
The above list contains the names of 382 of the old pioneers of the county who have passed away since my last report, and of these 333 had lived here 40 years or more or came here more than 40 years ago; 176, fifty years or more; 54 sixty years or more, and five have lived in the county at least 70 years. Of the whole number, 294 had attained the age of 60 years. 216 seventy years, 114 eighty years and 12 ninety years.
Thus it will be seen that more than one half of the deceased had reached the age of 70 years or over and nearly one-third had seen their eightieth birthday. Sixty-seven were native born of the county. John GOUGAR, of New Lenox, who died October 13, came to the county in 1830, and a sister, Mrs. Eliza A. WILSON, who died December 10, came here with her parents the following spring. Mrs. Martha CULLBERTSON, of Joliet, who died March 6, came to the county the same fall that Mr. Gougar did and they have ever since been residents of the same. Mrs. Sarah A. MUNSON, of Sebastapol, Cal., who died March 11,, came here in 1831 and this was her home until a few years ago. The three oldest persons who were native born of the county and who have died since last we met, are Mrs. Matilda GREENWOOD, of New Lenox, who died September 27, at the age of 64 years, Cyrus HEMPHILL, of Jackson, who died March 3, aged 66 years, and Mrs. Katherine McGOVERNY, of Frankfort, who died April 17, at the age of 67 years. Each were native of the town in which they died and had always lived there.
Of those who have died during the year, 197 were males and 184 females.
