William A. BALDWIN, necrologist, furnishes the following list of deaths:

HENTZE, LaFayelle M. – Age 79. Died September 13, 1913. Pioneer hotel keeper of Joliet and Civil War veteran.

FAROVID, G. S. – Died September 20, 1913, at New Haven Conn. Brother of Mrs. Frank McROBERTS.

GREENWOOD, George S. – Age 75. Died September 22, 1914. Pioneer of New Lenox.

PLATT, Mrs. Clara Norton – Age 77. Died September 27, 1913. Was born in Utica, New York, in 1836, came to Plainfield in 1842.

COLE, Dr. G. W. L. – Age 77. Died at his home in Englewood. Was Pioneer dentist of Joliet. Left Joliet 25 years ago.

OLIN, Mrs. Julia A. – Age 81. Died October 9, 1913. Was wife of Judge B. F. OLIN.

PARKS, Mrs. Agnes – Age. 75. Died October 10, 1913. Lived in Joliet since 1855. Born in Scotland, 1838.

STEPHEN, Mrs. John – Age 68. Died October 10, 1913. Lived in Joliet 60 years.

DAMES, John – Age 54. Died October 13, 1913. Was undertaker for many years.

O’CONNOR, Mrs. Catherine – Age 83. Resident of Joliet since 1838. Born in County Mayo, Ireland.

INGALLS, Lewis E. – Age 77. Died October 25, 1913. Native of DuPage township. Born 1839.

RILEY, Thomas H. – Age 65. Died November 3, 1913. Led Democracts in DesPlaines valley. Born 1848.

WEED, Frances M. – Age 75. Died December 18, 1913. Was well-known in Joliet for 50 years.

SMITH, Christy J. – Age 67. Died January 9, 1914. Came to Joliet in 1869. Born in New York 1847.

McDONALD, Leon J. – Age 63. Died January 17, 1914. Prominent Lockport journalist. Born in New Lenox.

PLANT, F. W. – Age 71. Died January 21, 1914. Old time manufacturer.

SELTZER, Henry – Age 78. Died January 23, 1914, in Pennsylvania. Prominent farmer of Manhattan.

SCHIFFER, John – Age 80. Died January 26, 1914. Civil War veteran. Born 1833.

LARKING, John – Age 77. Died January 27, 1914. Civil War veteran. Born in England.

BARRON, William H. – Died January 28, 1914. Prominent Plainfield resident.

ZIRKEL, Ann J. – Died February 4, 1914. Resident of Joliet.

DENAHY, Mrs. Ann – Age 97. Died February 25 (1914). Of Joliet, one of the oldest residents in the county.

LOUGHRAN, Michael F. – Age 65. Died March 2, 1914. Heavy real estate owner and banker. Resident of Joliet. Born in Ireland.

FITCH, Mrs. J. D. – Age 80. Died March 6, 1914. First woman in Joliet to vote.

MOTTINGER, Albert E. – Age 61. Died March 7, 1914. Leader in politics; Plainfield.

McGOVNEY, Ozias – Age 90. Died March 8, 1914. Public man of the old school; Mokena.

GRUNDY, Samuel – Age 86. Died March 11, 1914; at Plainfield. Prominent farmer.

WINKE, Frank – Age 68. Died March 15 (1914), in Joliet. Came from Germany when seven years of age.

WALSH, Robert – Age 77. Died March 17, 1914. Oldest merchant of Joliet. Leader in politics for over 50 years. Born in Ireland.

VAN HORNE, Rev. G. R. – Age 73. Died March 25 (1914), in Los Angeles. Was former elder of Rock River district.

McGOVERN, Rev. J. J. – Age 74. Died March 31 (1914). Resident of Lockport 34 years. Was author of note.

SEELEY, Mrs. Grace – Died April 2 (1914), age 56. Was life-long resident of Lockport, with exceoptio of a short stay in the east.

CARY, Phoebe – Died April 7, 1914, in Silver Cross hospital (Joliet). Many years a school teacher of Chicago.

WHITLEY, Robert – Age 50 years. Died April 20, 1914. An idealist of the highest type.

MAURER, Herman – Age 56. Died April 20 (1914). Leading German-American of Joliet.

BEACH, Lafayette F. – age 73. Died May 3, 1914. Came to Morris in 1868. Had extensive dry goods business in Joliet. Born in New York.

MILNER, Mrs. Duncan C. – Died May 5 (1914), in Ravenswood. Was wife of former pastor of Central Presbyterian church. (I presume the reference is to Ravenswood, Illinois, now a part of the north side of Chicago. – L. B. Peet)

MILLER, Mrs. William – Age 71. Died at home in Joliet, May 6, 1914. Born in Schenectady, New York, in 1843.

HOWK, Andrew J. – Age 83. Died May 14, 1914. Born in Watertown, New York, and was a prominent Joliet merchant 30 years ago.

SHAFFNER, E. L. – Age 63. Died May 17, 1914. Was born in Joliet in 1852.

HERBACH, George – Died May 18, 1914. Organizer of Joliet Krieger Verien. Lived in Joliet 42 years.

MURPHY, Mrs. J. P. – Age 82. Died May 18, 1914. Wife of former Justice Murphy. Native of Ireland.

BENNETT, Nathan – age 70. Died June 2, 1914. Native of Midland, England. Was Joliet coal dealer.

STEWART, John W. – Age 89. Died June 18 (possibly 13), 1914. Crossed the plains in ’49. Director of Wilmington First National bank.

DEVINE, Mrs. Margaret – Age 86. Died at her home near York, Nebraska, June 20, (1914). Lived in Joliet until the early 80’s.

MARSHALL, Ralph – Age 72. Died June 22, 1914, in California. Civil War veteran of the 100th Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment. Was sheriff of Will county. Son of Josiah MARSHALL, New England pioneer. Was born in New Lenox, June 1, 1842. Brother of Judge A. O. MARSHALL and Griffin MARSHALL.

BROWN, Murray – Age 62 (possibly 63). Died June 26, 1914. Former Wheatland resident. Died in Sioux City, Iowa.

BUMP, Lucinda – Age 73. Died June 27, 1914. Pioneer of Homer. Born January 11, 1841.

RIDGE, William – Age 83. Died June 27, Somersetshire, England. Located in Elwood in 1863.

DOYLE, Michael – Age 84. Died June 28, 1914. Native of Leituem, Ireland. Came to Will county 70 years ago. Resident of Jackson.

DUENSING, Mrs. Henry – Age 74. Died June 30, 1914. Resident of Crete.

LEPPER, Henry – Age 56. Died June 30, 1914. Resident of Joliet for many years.

McPHERSON, D. N. – Age 56. Died June 30, 1914, at home in Joliet.

DAVIDSON, George – Died July 1, 1914. Pioneer of Joliet.

MERRILL, Mrs. Ruth S. – Age 73. Died at her home in Round Lake, Illinois. Widow of the late Captain MERRILL of I. S. P.

SHAW, Elijah B. – Age 80. Died July 5 (1914). Native of Vermont. Oldest insurance man in Joliet.

KINNEY, John – Age 69. Died July 5, 1914. Came here from Canada when a boy. Veteran farmer of Troy.

EVERTON, Mrs. Delia – Died July 5, 1914, at her home at Mountain Home, Idaho. Former resident of Plainfield.

DONAHUE, Edward – Died July 8, 1914. Age 84. Lived in Forest Park (Joliet).

HARWOOD, Mrs. Helen, — Died July 9, 1914. At Atlanta, Georgia. Was wife of Dr. Harwood, formerly of Joliet.

OLIVER, Mrs. Catherine – Age 75 years. Died July 12, 1914. Resident of Braidwood and mother of Mrs. Thomas STEVENSON.

HORN, Mrs. Amelia – Died July 12, 1914, in Joliet. Widow of the late Charles HORN.

ROBERTS, Harry A. – Age 51. Was a former resident of Joliet. Lived in Oak Park (Ill.) at the time of death.

BROWN, Malcolm – Died in La Grange, July 15 (1914). Pioneer resident of Joliet.

BREEN, Kyron – Had been a resident of Jackson. Had been a resident of Will county for 66 years.

HALEY, Charles – Died July 16, 1914. Pioneer of Homer.

GARDNER, Frank – Age 63. Died in Joliet.

BANNON, Mrs. Bridget – Died July 16, 1914. Widow of Patrick BANNON.

FERN, Charles – Age 78. Died July 20, 1914, at his home in Green Garden. Resident of Will county 40 years.

DOOLITTLE, Jesse – Age 57. Died in Joliet, July 21, 1914. Prominent in social and fraternal circles.

PEARSON, Erick – Age 85. Died at his home in New Lenox, July 23, 1914.

KELLEY, David – Age 90. Died July 23, 1914. Was first postmaster at Symerton.

HEWLETT, Mrs. John – Died in Joliet, July 24, 1914.

WEBER, Mrs. John – Died at her home in Wilmington, July 24, 1914.

BOOS, Jeremiah – Age 83. Died in Joliet. July 24, 1914. Pioneer stone contractor.

HARTONG, Franklin – Age 75. Died July 24, 1914. Plainfield pioneer.

LUTZ, Rev. G. W. – Died at Winona, Minn., July 25, 1914. Was former resident of Jackson.

GRINTON, William – Age 70. Died in Joliet, July 28, 1914. Was born in Princeton, Canada. Came to Plainfield in 1844. Grinton’s woolen mill was built in Troy by the elder Mr. Grinton. Contributed many writings on Desplaines valley. Was well posted on historical facts.

MOORE, Mrs. Allan – Age 86. Died July 29 (1914). Resident of Manhattan. Native of England.

PATTERSON, James – Age 82. Died in Wheatland, July 31, 1914. Was born in Kirtlehead, Scotland, January 9, 1832. Was first signer of the call for the Progressive convention in 1912. He was esteemed as Will county’s first citizen. Organizer of Wheatland Plowing Match.

FRENCH, John M. – Age 69. Died July 31, 1914. Native of Boreyshire, England. Lived in Peotone since 1851.

HIBNER, Mrs. James – Age 62. Died in Gardner (Ill.), August 1, 1914. Daughter of John (HIBNER) and Mary HIBNER of Jackson.

WHITCOMB, Augustus – Age 64. Died August 4, 1914. Home in Jackson.

SPEARS, Mrs. Mary – Age 84. Died August 4, 1914. Was resident of Joliet many years.

WEIR, Nicholas – Age 79. Died August 4, 1914. Resident of Lockport.

GRAY, Andrew – Age 65. Died in Custer Park, August 4, 1914. Born near McHenry, Illinois.

McDONALD, Mrs. Fannie – Age 79. Died August 5, 1914. Member of old Will county family.

LARDNER, William – Age 79. Died at Winfield, Kansas, August 8, 1914. Was former resident of Wilton.

REYNOLDS, Miss Hattie – Died at Los Gatos, California, August 9, 1914. Former resident of New Lenox.

WHITE, Mrs. Fanny – Age 63 (possibly 83 or 93), Died August 10, 1914. Wife of the late Robert WHITE of Homer.

KELLY, Mrs. Timothy – Died August 10, 1914. Mother of Timothy KELLY of the Joliet National bank. Lived in Joliet more than 60 years.

MARTENS, Mrs. Theodore – Age 52. Died August 10, 1914. Died in Caldwell, Kansas. Was former resident of Joliet.

SWANSON, Mrs. Emma – Died at her home in Ravenswood, August 10, 1914, Was wife of former Fire Chief SWANSON. Of Joliet.

SEARIGHT, John – Died August 11, 1914. Was agent for C. R. I. P. (Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Rail Road), at New Lenox.

SUFFERN, Mrs. Agnes – Died August 13, 1914. Resident of Wilmington district.

PASOLD, Mrs. Catherine – Age 77. Died August 13, 1914. One of the oldest residents of Joliet.

CLINTON, Mrs. Harriet – Died August 13, 1914. Wife of Chauncy CLINTON, Tamaroah, Illinois. Former resident of Peotone.

SCHULTZ, Mrs. Emily – Died July 18, 1914. Home in Joliet.

BOYD, Mrs. Anna – Age 42 (possibly 43). Died August 19, 1914, in Joliet. Daughter of Mrs. Maria ARMAGAST.

ILLGEN, Theodore – Age 68. Died August 21 (1914). Native of Saxony. Many years a farmer of Monee.

LONG, Charles – Died at Hot Springs, Arkansas, August 23 (possibly 22), 1914. Was former resident of Wilmington.

PENSINGER, Nathaniel – Age 65. Died August 24, 1914. Long resident of Jackson as farmer.

BACON, Dr. C. H. – Age 80. Died August 25, 1914, in Lockport. Native of Albany, New York, and served his country as a surgeon in the Civil War. Lived in Lockport at the time of his death.

RIORDON, Dennis – Died September 3, 1914. Veteran of Civil War.

MURPHY, David G. Age 72. Died August 27, 1914. Born in Ireland in 1842. Resided in Joliet more than 50 years.

WILLARD, Elizabeth M. – Age 72. Died August 31, 1914. Died at the home of his sister in Plainfield.

DUNN, Patrick – Age 82. Died September 1, 1914. Born in Ireland. Served in the famous 100th Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment. Lived in Homer.

BALTZ, John – Age 56. Died September 1, 1914. Resident of Troy.

TAXIS, Mrs. Virginia – Age 75. Died September 8, 1914. Native of Lockport and wife of Dr. TAXIS of Gardner (Illinois).

WETMORE, Sidney – Died in Anamosa, Iowa, September 9, 1914. Long connected with the I. S. P. as bertillion clerk. (I. S. P., Illinois State Police. Bertillion System, a method of identifying individuals through body measurements, use by law enforcement before fingerprints. — L.B. Peet)

FREY, Mrs. Byron – Age 63. Died September 24, 1914. Resided in Lockport since 1875.

HILLY, Miles B. – Died at his home in Chicago, September 22, 1914. Was former resident of Joliet and connected with Joliet News.

STEINBERG, Mrs. Frederick – Age 65. Died in Frankfort, September 26, 1914. Lived in Will county for 45 years.

PIERCE, Byron R. – Age 60. Died September 26, 1914. Resided in Joliet many years.
