Edward ALEXANDER

Dies of Heart Trouble Edward ALEXANDER, Formerly of Joliet, Expires in Channahon Well Known and Popular Prominent as Member of Barber’s Union-Sudden Death Occurs at 1:30 Yesterday Morning-Coroner NOEL Notified Edward ALEXANDER, aged 26, who was well known in this city, where he was employed for many months as a barber, died at the home of his parents in Channahon early yesterday morning. The young man had been home for about six weeks, but he hadn’t complained of being sick and the sudden taking away necessitated the attention of Coroner NOEL, who investigated the case and a jury rendered a verdict of heart failure. Sometime about midnight of Thursday, the young man and his father arose from their beds to chase some cats, which were annoying them, away from the premises. The two men were out in the cold for sometime (sic) and when they returned to the house both were chilled and Edward was excited. Nothing of importance was attached to the incident and soon after Edward returned to bed. About 1:30 o’clock, the young man’s mother was aroused by a noise in her son’s bedroom which sounded like difficult breathing, and she called to her husband to see what was the trouble. When he got to the room Edward was dead. That is all the parents know of the sad affair, and after arousing the neighbors and securing medical assistance, the coroner was notified. The deceased, who was a nephew of George ALEXANDER, the ex-supervisor of Channahon, worked in Joliet for several months and was prominent in the affairs of the barbers’ union. After leaving Joliet he went west, but soon returned home and for the past few weeks has been living with his parents in Channahon.
